Attorney Dennis Carruthers of Stanton, CA; ethical dwarf

The state of California provided Dennis Scott Carruthers with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Western State University Law School.

The California Bar Court found Denny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Denny admitted to committing acts involving dishonesty in the conduct of his company Mountain Lion Acquisitions LLC, which purchased delinquent debts from lenders and investors.

In connection with one such debt, Denny submitted to the Contra Costa County Superior Court a pleading purportedly signed by the vice president of a company from which he had purchased the debt. The pleading was designed to convince the court that the debt was valid, and was an act of gross negligence. In aggravation, the filing of the pleading harmed the public and the administration of justice.   

As a consequence of his misconduct the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Denny by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.
