Judge Marcus Clark of Monroe, LA; slacker

The state of Louisiana presented Marcus R. Clark with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Judiciary Commission of Louisiana found Marcus guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Brought his judicial office into disrepute
  • Failed to timely rule in 19 cases
  • Failed to accurately report cases taken under advisement
  • Delayed ruling in four cases for over three years
  • Delayed ruling in one case for five years
  • Delayed in reporting cases under advisement for two years

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Marcus’ First bite at the Judicial Misconduct Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for consistently failing to timely rule on cases pending in his so-called court.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Surpeme Court punished Marcus by gifting him with a complimentary suspension from the bench for 30-days. .

As we speak (ca. April 2016), Marcus continues to sit as a judge in Monroe, Lousiana.
