Judge Catherine Steenland of Roseville, MI; drunken convict

The state of Michigan provided Catherine Bove Steenland with a law license in 1961 after he graduated from Michigan State University Law School.

The Judicial Tenure Commission found Cathy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Cathy was arrested in Ogemaw County for driving under the influence (DUI). Police reports state that Cathy was driving along a trail that winds around a lake when she backed into a ditch. Witnesses called 911 after observing her numerous failed attempted to remove the car from the ditch.

Subsequently, Cathy pled guilty to driving under the influence after her blood-alcohol content tested at 0.23, which was nearly three times the legal limit of 0.8.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Cathy by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. March 2016), Cathy continues to sit as a 39th District Court judge in Roseville, Michigan.
