Justice Harriet O’Neill – Texas’ 2010 Judicial Narcissist Award Winner

Supreme Court Justice Harriet O'Neill 2010 Judicial

"Narcissist" Award Winner

Justice Harriet O’Neill retired from the Texas Supreme Court in June 2010 after sitting as a Judge in Texas from 1993. I recently received a copy of a congratulatory email from Molly Irvin’s to O’Neill on her announced retirement. Furthermore Harriet, do not confuse narcissist to mean humble, meek, modest, timid, shy, altruistic, shy, submissive and/or unassuming.

In an attempt to cement her status as Texas’ No. 1 Narcissist (bar none) in the Judicial Division , Harriet found it acceptable to allocate over $65,000 of campaign contributions to defray the costs of a portrait of herself and/or others to be hung at the offices of the Texas Supreme Court.

The costs to Harriet’s unwitting and unknowing contributors for this obnoxious expenditure are as follows:
  • $59,026.94 paid to Portraits South of Raleigh, NC
  • $6,027.21 = misc. costs for portraits
  • $65,054.15 = total portrait costs paid by O’Neill’s unwitting contributors
In an attempt to be excruciatingly fair to Harriet as is my wont, it should be noted others of her ilk (FYI: Harriet, ILK is not defined as a male ELK) have also engaged in the same conduct as set forth below:

US Senator John Cornyn
  • $21,679.63 paid to Portraits South of Raleigh, NC for self portrait
  • $6,428.01 = misc. costs for portraits
  • $28,107.64 = total portrait costs
Ex. TX Justice/US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
  • $20,639.00 paid to Portraits South of Raleigh, NC for self portrait
  • $1,662.19 = misc. costs for portraits
  • $22,301.19 = total portrait costs
Federal District Judge Michael Schneider (ex- TX Supreme Court Justice)
  • $28,645.27 paid to Portraits South of Raleigh, NC for self portrait
The total costs as set forth above to satisfy the unwarranted vanity of these buffoons (my sincerest apologies to buffoons) is $144,108.25. This is a rather princely sum to say the least, which I’m sure y’all would agree with, right? In fact,

Could it be that the artist and/or army of artists employed by Portraits South in South Carolina misconstrued Harriet to be a Phyllis Diller Look-a-like, which jwould  have ustified billing her over 60 Grand for an oil portrait? Inquiring minds would like to know Harry, I’m sorry I mean Harriet. Obviously, if this be the case, then 65 Grand would qualify as a bargain, right?

Let’s all give an Bronx cheer to Justice O’Neill and her arrogant comrades, Alberto Gonzales (aka, The Gonz) and John Cornyn.
