Solicitor Robert Detlor of Ontario, CAN; serial thief

The Law Society presented Robert Aaron Detlor with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

In one matter, Bobby was employed Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation (AAFN), formerly known as Whitefish Lake First Nation as a Human Development attorney.

Chief Steven Miller of the First Nation Tribe began questioning Bobby’s payment demands for legal work that was supposedly done on his Nation’s behalf. Chief Miller subsequently ordered an independent report from a third party to evaluate two of Bobby’s lucrative retainer agreements.

Chief Miller hired Solmon Rothbart Goodman LLP to review the retainer and subsequent sundry accounts related to Bobby’s legal activities on behalf of his Nation, over several years.

James P. McReynolds of the Solmon firm prepared the report after reviewing numerous documents and other evidence involving Bobby’s business practices. That investigation came to the conclusion that AAFN had been massively overcharged for questionable work on its behalf by Bobby.

In fact, the report stated that since he was first retained by AAFN in 2003, Bobby was paid nearly $1.4 million in fees, many of which were highly unethical, if not illegal.

The most egregious example of Bobby the Crook cheerfully sticking it to the Nation was when he charged over $4,000 for a total of 14 hours at $290 an hour to attend a conference that he was not asked to attend. However, to prove just how disgusting of a thief he is, Bobby billed four First Nations communities the same fees to attend the same conference. In other words, Bobby quadrupled his sham fees to the Nations.

There is no record that Bobby has ever been disciplined by the Law Society for his egregious misconduct nor has he been criminally charged for grand theft.

It appears that defrauding the Nations natives in Canada is just as acceptable as it is here in the U.S. of A.

As we speak (ca. March2016), Bobby practices at 417-16 Sunrise Court in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada.
