Judge Henry Walsh of Ventura, CA; moronic scofflaw

The state of Californian presented Henry J. Walsh with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from Loyola Marymount University Law School.

Former Gov. Pete Wilson was duped into appointing Elizabeth as a judge on the Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1998. Hank didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualifed attorney in the Ventura area. He received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Hank guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Hank saw fit to knowingly violate a state law and the Code of Judicial Conduct that mandated that he alert any parties or lawyers in a case before him if any of them had donated more than $100 to his election.

Election records prove that Hank received contributions of $100 or more to his campaign committee from more than 100 attorneys.

In one matter, Richman v. Hartley, Hank received $1,4999 in campaign donations from the lead attorney and $1,000 from that attorney’s law partner in the months leading up to the 2012 election.

In its ethics ruling against Hank, the Commission stated:

  • “Judge Walsh's failure to disclose campaign contributions after the election deprived the parties and attorneys appearing before him of information to which they were entitled."
  • "Even if the amount of a campaign contribution does not require disqualification, the perception of an impartial and independent judiciary is fundamental to public respect for the judicial system and the rule of law.”

Of course the “rule of law” doesn’t mean a hell of a lot to Judicial Misfits like Hank and those of his ilk.

In an effort to establish that he’s a total moron and loser, Hank defended his misconduct, by arguing that he didn’t believe he was required to disclose campaign donors in cases after his election. This is pure bunk because the Code of Judicial Ethics specifically required disclosure for two years after the contribution was made. Apparently, the moron isn’t capable of understanding that several months is less than two years.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California Judicial Commission punished Hank by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. March 2016), Hank continues to sit as a Ventura County Superior Court judge in Ventura, California.
