Attorney Benjamin VanGelderen of Southfield, MI; slacker, loser

The state of Michigan presented Benjamin F. VanGelderen with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Loyola University-Chicago School of Law. 

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #56 found Benny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to seek the lawful objectives of his clients
• Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
• Failed to keep clients informed of status of matter
• Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted, or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
• Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $1,115.22.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Benny practices his brand of law with Kent E. Gorsuch & Associates at 20750 Civic Center Drive in Southfield, Michigan.
