Judge Larry Martin of Brooklyn, NY; ethical goblin

The state of New York presented Larry Doby Martin with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.

Larry has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the thirty-three years (1983-2016). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the Brooklyn area was about to offer Larry a good paying job.

The New York Judicial Commission found Larry guilty of the following misconduct

In one matter, Larry found it acceptable to assert the prestige of his judicial office by writing two letters on judicial stationery to other judges, seeking favorable sentencing dispositions on behalf of two criminal defendants who were the sons of his long-time family friends.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. February 2016), Larry continues to sit as a Kings County Supreme Court Justice in Brooklyn, New York.
