Judge John Lakin of Bradenton, FL; ethical leprechaun

The state of Florida presented John F. Lakin with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Massachusetts Law School.

The Judicial Qualification Commission has charged Johnny with engaging in the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny found it acceptable to request tickets to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team games from a law firm on at least four separate occasions. The Code of Judicial Conduct specifically prohibits a judge from accepting a gift, favor or loan from anyone who is likely to come before them.

The law firm of Kallins, Little and Delgado had at least one pending lawsuit in Johnny’s courtroom when he received the baseball tickets.

It is also alleged that Johnny received tickets from at least one other attorney and/or law firm he worked with on cases pending in his court.

In layman’s language we refer these type of gifts as “judicial bribery,” which appears to be an accepted fringe benefit in Johnny’s demented mind.

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Johnny by the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2016), Johnny continues to sit as a Manatee County Circuit Court judge in Bradenton, Florida.
