Attorney Kristie McAuley of Anderson, SC; cheating convict

The State of South Carolina presented Kristie Ann McAuley with a law license in 2008 after she graduated from Appalachian University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Kristie guilty of the following misconduct.

While employed as a deputy public defender, Kristie represented a defendant who she knew was not statutorily eligible for representation by the public defender’s office. In addition, she accepted payments from several of the non-qualifed defendants.

Subsequently, Kristie was arrested and charged with Misconduct in Office by a public official. She later pled guilty to Misconduct in Office and was fined and ordered to pay court costs.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Kristie by gifting her with a complimentary 18-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2016) Kristie practices at 107 Pine Lane in Anderson, South Carolina.
