The state of New Jersey presented Dan S. Smith with a law license in 1987.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Danny guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Danny’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Inaction caused dismissal of client’s claim
  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
  • Failed to explain matter to extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions about the representation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Phil by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

 

Danny’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to inform client of motion to dismiss his appeal
  • Failed to advise client that appeal was dismissed by court

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Phil by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.
