Attorney Brien O’Brien of Sioux City; convicted tax scofflaw

The state of Iowa presented Brien Patrick O’Brien with a law license in 1996.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Brien guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to file Iowa state tax returns for two consecutive years
  • Criminally convicted of fraudulent practices in the third degree

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Brien by gifting him with a second complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2015), Brien practices with the O’Brien Law Office at 701 Pierce Street in Sioux City, Iowa.
