Attorney Jeffrey Smith of Oskaloosa, IA; repeat offender

 

The state of Iowa presented Jeffrey Smith with a law license in 1991.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Jeff’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to promptly notify client of receipt of client funds
  • Failed to render appropriate accountings to client
  • Failed to retain client trust account records as required

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Jeff’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to send client notice of withdrawal of fees/costs
  • Failed to deposit unearned advance fee in trust account

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. December 2015), Jeff practices with The Smith Law Firm at 219 First Avenue East in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
