Attorney James Watts of Salt Lake City; ethical leprechaun

The state of Utah presented James I. Watts with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the University of Utah Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act candidly towards tribunal
  • Violated or attempted to violate rules of conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to safeguard client property
  • Failed to terminate or decline representation when required to do so

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2015), Jimmy practices at 774 East 2100 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.
