Judge Lester Nauhaus of Pittsburgh; ethical dwarf

The state of Pennsylvania presented Lester G. Nauhaus with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Willamette University Law School.

In one matter, the Alleghany County district attorney’s office has asked for a hearing to determine whether improper conversations occurred between former county Councilman Chuck McCullough’s defense attorney and the judge who presided over his criminal defense attorney, Jon Pushinksy. (Paula Reed Ward, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

The DA’s petition asked that the case be heard by another judge. The DA went on to say:

  • “Judge Nauhaus is either a witness as they’ve alleged or he’s complicit in a crime.”
  • “Either way, he can’t sit as a finder of fact in an evidentiary hearing.”

As we speak (ca. November 2015), Lester continues to sit as an Alleghany County Common Pleas County judge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
