Attorney David Robertson of Cincinnati; lying crook

The state of Ohio presented David Franklin Robertson with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Northwestern Law School.

The Cincinnati Bar Association charged Dave with the following misconduct.

• Repeatedly violated probate rules by obtaining fees w/o court approval
• Improperly received fees of $5,000, $5,000, $7,820 and $5,500
• Probate court awarded total fee of $14,000 as payment in full to Dave
• Dave failed to advise court he had already collected $23,200 (excess of $9,200)
• Filed false fiduciary account with probate court stating he received no fees during the period despite the fact he had been paid $23,200
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
• Filed two additional fiduciary accounts with probate court and on both occasions falsely claimed he had not received any fees
• Charged and collected a clearly excessive fee (crook)
• Made a false statement of law or fact to a tribunal

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Dave by the Ohio Supreme Court.
