The state of North Carolina provided Jeffrey D. Smith with a law license in 1982

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar has charged Jeff with engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to perform monthly reconciliations of trust account
• Failed to properly maintain entrusted funds
• Disbursed entrusted funds in an unauthorized manner
• Improperly made checks out to cash from trust account

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jeff.
