Attorney Edward Winfrey of Ft. Worth, TX; cheating loser

The state of Texas presented Edward Eugene Winfrey with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Texas Wesleyan University Law School.

The District Grievance Committee found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him involving estate matter
  • Frequently failed to carry out completely obligations owed to client
  • Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with reasonable information requests
  • Failed to explain probate matter to extent reasonably necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to refund unearned fees after being fired (crook)
  • Failed to timely respond to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Eddie!)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 12-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Eddie.

As we speak (ca. September 2015), Eddie practices in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
