Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro of Easton, PA; nepotistic loser

Former Gov. Ed Rendell was duped into appointing Patricia as a Northampton County Magisterial District Court judge in 2007. She wasn’t appointed because she was the most qualified person in the Easton area. She received the appointment because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board found Patty guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matterPatty found it acceptable to knowingly violate nepotism rules when she hired her husband, Jon B. Wittington as a constable to serve the court she was sitting on. Of course Jon also knew for a fact that his wife was cheerfully violating the rules when she hired him two years earlier in 2013.

When Patty and Jon got married, Patty’s mother, Elizabeth Romig-Gainer presided over the wedding. Prior to Patty ascending to the bench, her mother Elizabeth held the same judicial position for thirty years. Clearly, Elizabeth was well aware that her daughter was violating the nepotism rules.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Conduct Board punished Patty by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Rather than wait for the voters to toss her off the bench, Patty decided to resign from her judicial office in

Rather than await a ruling from the Judicial Board that likely would have led top her being tossed off the bench, Patty took the cowards way out and resigned five months after she received the complimentary reprimand and well before her term of office expired.
