Attorney Barry Walker of Tupelo, MS; convicted felon

The state of Mississippi provided Barry Joe Walker with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Southern University Law School.

The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance found Barry guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a judge on the Thirteenth Chancery Court judge

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Pled guilty of attempting to corruptly influence a witness who had been called to
  • to testify before a federal grand jury
  • Conduct brought judicial office into disrepute
  • Pled guilty to attempting to influence outcome of federal criminal proceeding
  • Pled guilty in federal court to the felony of obstruction of justice

Rather than face removal from the bench, Barry took the coward’s way out and resigned his position on the bench.

As we speak (ca. October 2015), Barry practices law at 212 North Madison Street in Tupelo, Mississippi.
