The Law Society of Alberta presented John C. Cohen with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Manitoba Law School.

Ethics investigators for the Law Society of Alberta found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Less than candid with clients
• Failed to disclose release of client deposit when required to so act

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
