Solicitor Alan Dewar of Edinburgh, Scotland; ethical leprechaun

The Law Society of Scotland presented Alan Maitland Dewar with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The Council of the Law Society of Scotland found Alan guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Alan failed to timely respond, openly, honestly and accurately to the reasonable enquiries made of him by the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission and the Law Society of Scotland in connection with a complaint raised in connection with a Trust, despite repeated and numerous reminders being made of him by both organizations. In truth, Alan told the ethics investigators, Up yours.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Law Society punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2015), Alan practices at 3 Hartington Place in Edinburgh, Scotland.
