Attorney Thomas Schmelzer of Cleveland; ethical misfit

The state of Ohio presented Thomas Schmelzer with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland.

The Toledo Bar Association found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest re: clients with divergent interests
  • Failed to decline employment when required to so act

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-monthsuspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Tommy.

As we speak (ca. October 2015), Tommy practices with The Schmelzer Law Firm LLC at 1621 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.
