Attorney Carl Rosenblum of New Orleans; apologist for Big Oil

Attorney Carl Rosenblum has been a member and/or partner of the Jones Walker law firm located in New Orleans since 1983.

The Jones Walker law firm is claimed to be a “prestigious” firm in the New Orleans area. “Prestigious” law firm’ is in truth defined as one that is able to bilk, I’m sorry I mean “bill” its clients hundreds of dollars an hour for its claimed services. In most instances, such a law firm is politically connected with all of the power brokers in the area. Put simply, it means the law firm and/or its members have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars in bribing, I’m sorry I mean contributing to the campaigns of local officials and/or judges.

When the deep-pocket plaintiffs, all members of Big Oil (BP, Shell, Exxon and Chevron), decided to pursue a sham lawsuit (is there another kind) lawsuit seeking to prevent implementation of the Obama administration’s six-month moratorium on deep-seal drilling in the Gulf, they immediately sought the legal services of the most respected and well-known legal whores in New Orleans, which of course was Jones Walker.

Attorney Carl Rosenblum, in his official capacity as chief enabler and apologist for Big Oil and Jones Walker, had the chutzpah to tell reporter Rebecca Mowbray, reporter for the Times-Picayune that “never before has the government, with the stroke of a pen, shut down an entire industry for six months.”

Because attorney Carl Rosenblum’s lips were moving at the time, it should have been obvious that he was lying, which of course he was. I suppose if someone offered to pay you upwards of $400 an hour to lie, you’d do it, right?

Attorney Carl Rosenblum had the audacity to argue before U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman (a fellow whore/enabler for Big Oil) that after the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, killing 11 workers and unleashing an unmitigated environmental disaster in the Gulf that, it would be unfair to his clients (aka, polluters) to deprive them of an opportunity to earn future profits from unsafe (is there another kind?) deep sea drilling in the Gulf.

Conclusion

In the day as they are wont to say (ca: 1950s, 1960s), hypocrites and fabricators of false facts like attorney Carl Rosenblum those of his ilk would have been subjected to a little “water-boarding” down at the Ten-Mile Creek behind the old DeVilbiss factory on Manhattan Blvd. in Toledo, Ohio.

This Ol’ Dawg can assure y’all that attorney Carl Rosenblum, Judge Martin Feldman and their compatriots wouldn’t have survived one dunking at the Ten Mile Creek before they changed their conduct if ya know what I mean.
