Law professor Ed Sherman of Tulane; moron and apologist for Big Oil

Ed Sherman is a professor of uncivil procedure, I’m sorry I mean civil procedure at Tulane Law School located in New Orleans.

In commenting on Big Oil’s lawsuit v. the Obama Administrations six-month moratorium on deep-sea drilling in the Gulf to Ms. Rebecca Mowbray, reporter for the Times-Picayune, Professor Ed Sherman “if [Judge] Feldman grants the preliminary injunction, it would be a sign that the judge thinks that Hornbeck’s [primary plaintiff] arguments have merit.”

Professor Ed Sherman went on to tell reporter Mowbray of the Times-Picayune that the most practical implication for the Obama administration would be to negotiate some compromises over the moratorium. “Very often a preliminary injunction will result in some sort of change of behavior,” Sherman said.

Change of behavior you say Professor Sherman? Are ya speaking to any of the following behavior engaged in by BP and those of its Ilk (FYI Professor Sherman: ILK isn’t defined as a male ELK) in submitting sham disaster reports on deep-well to the EPA (one-mile or more) drilling:

We can guarantee the protection of the Walrus population in the Gulf
  • As I suspect you know Professor Sherman, there hasn’t been a Walrus citing in the Gulf of Mexico for nearly 3 million years
  • The name and phone number of an oil spill expert who died in 2005
  • Zero chance of a major oil spill resulting from deep-sea oil drilling
Apparently, none of the above referenced statements by BP, et al. in their reports to the EPA were of any concern to you, right Professor Sherman?

To be fair Professor Sherman, maybe representatives of BP, Exxon-Mobil, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips and Shell are endowed with supernatural abilities that would allow them to conduct a “séance” with the dead oil spill expert.

And more importantly Professor Sherman, can anyone reasonably argue that Walruses may well be hiding in the Gulf region? Might be true Professor Sherman, after all it’s a well known fact that the vast majority of Walruses in the Gulf region were apt to vote en masse for liberal Democrats, right?
