► Judge Dale Reinholtsen of Eureka, CA; perjurer, repeat offender

The state of California presented Dale Arthur Reinholtsen with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of California Davis Law School.

In 1988, former Gov. Pete Wilson was duped into appointing Dale as a Humboldt County Municipal Court judge. Dale didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in Humboldt County. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Commission on Judicial Performance found Judge Reinholtsen guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Submitted falsely salary affidavits (perjury) on 7 occasions
  • Received judicial salary in violation of law on 13 occasions
  • Failed to act timely on over 20 matters assigned to him
  • Failed to prepare case progression plans
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law
  • Committed financial abuse of an elder
  • Took over 2 years to sign order after submission of matter to him

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Judge Reinholtsen First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary advisory letter in 2002 for engaging in the same type of misconduct by failing to issue a ruling in a case after one year had passed.

The California Constitution states that a judge may not receive his/her salary while any cause of action remains pending and undetermined for 90 days after it has been submitted for decision. It is obvious that Judge Reinholtsen found this constitutional mandate to be without merit in that he cheerfully violated it on numerous occasions.

Because Judicial Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Judge Reinholtsen was never criminally charged with perjury despite the fact that he swore that 7 affidavits were true when in fact they were false.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judge Reinholtsen by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2015), Judge Reinholtsen continues to sit as a Humboldt County Superior Court judge in Eureka, California.
