Justice John Ritchie of Toronto, CAN; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

FYI: Judge Roy Bean was an infamous Justice of the Peace and saloon owner in Texas who called himself the "The Law West of the Pecos." Roy was also affectionately referred to as the Hanging Judge.

Since unfortunately being appointed to the bench in 2003, Johnny has dedicated his career to establish that he is an arrogant ignoramus.

Over the years, Johnny’s peers and/or superiors on the bench in Toronto have repeatedly chastised him for violating the rights of defendants and/or displaying overt bias who were unfortunate enough to have appeared in his Court of Injustice.

Apparently, Johnny is not an adherent to that old adage of “dispensing justice,” but adheres to his own motto of “dispensing with justice.”

Johnny’s novel idea of justice resulted in the following:

  • Appeal court reversed drunk driving conviction because the reasons Johnny gave were “so deficient as to amount to no reasons at all”
  • Justice Ian Nordheimer said Jonny’s treatment of a defendant in another drunk driving case would leave an observer “with the distinct impression that he had predetermined the result of the charge, if not he likely outcome of the proceedings as a whole”
  • Judge Michael Code said Johnny failed to give fair consideration of evidence favoring the defendant for failing to appear for a court hearing
  • Judge Sandra Chapnik criticized Johnny for not backing up his conclusion that defense witnesses were liars by saying, “It is not sufficient to use glib, pro forma platitudes and generalities – which is what appears to have occurred here.”
  • Judge Anne Molloy examined several of Johnny’s decision and discovered a troubling formula wherein he provided identical “boilerplate” comments rather than stating his reasons for finding witnesses not believable.

Sadly, there’s no reasonable way to rid the legal community of Johnny the Arrogant Moron.

As of mid 2015, Johnny’s years-long reign of ignorance and arrogance on the bench is being investigated by the Ontario Judicial Council, which is made up of a group of apologists for Judicial Misfits.

As we speak (ca. August 2015), Johnny the Buffoon (my apologies to buffoons) remains sitting on the bench in Toronto, Ottawa, Canada.
