Judge Louis Bloom of Charleston, WV; incompetent loser

The state of West Virginia presented Louis H. Bloom with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia Law School.

In one matter,Judge Bloom was assigned to preside over a case that was brought by the state Attorney General against eight internet pay day lenders.

During the pendency of the case, Judge Bloom granted the defendant’s motion to sever (separate) the defendants from being prosecuted as one. The Attorney General filed for a Writ of Prohibition with the West Virginia Supreme Court to prohibit the enforcement of Judge Bloom’s severance order.

Subsequently, the Supreme Court granted the Writ of Prohibition and stated in part the following:

“Having found that Respondent has exceeded his legitimate powers and that, in

particular, the order severing the claims against the named payday lenders was clearly erroneous as a matter of law, the writ of prohibition, as requested, is hereby granted.”

In short, the Supreme Court opined that Judge Bloom was an ignoramus that didn’t appreciate and/or understand the law.

Unfortunately for the taxpayers of West Virginia, they were forced to pay the expenses incurred by the Supreme Court in regards to Bloom’s asinine conduct. And of course Bloom doesn’t much give a damn how many times he is reversed because a judge cannot be tossed from the bench for being a Certified Moron.

As we speak (August 2015), Bloom continues to sit as a Kanawha County Circuit Court judge in Charleston, West Virginia.
