Solicitor John Whelan of Tipperary, Ireland; ethical elf

The Irish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct in regards to settlement funds received on behalf of his clients from Residential Institutions Redress Board (RIRB), which handles cases involving child abuse.

In one matter, Johnny found it acceptable to cash $184,000 in solicitor/client fee checks instead of paying the money into a client account as he was required to do.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Johnny practices with Matthew MacNamara & Sons at Friar Street, Cashel in Tipperary, Ireland.
