Justice Patience Roggensack of Madison, WI; ethical gremlin

The state of Wisconsin presented Patience Drake Roggensack with a law license in 1980 after she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Over the past year or so there has been an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal campaign contributions between Gov. Scott Walker and corporate sponsored dark-money groups. (Wisconsin News)

After the investigation was launched Walker and his minions had the chutzpah to claim that bypassing state law on contribution limits by big outside groups, where are no limits, was not a violation of Wisconsin election laws.

When the case came before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Roggensack, in accordance with the Code of Judicial Conduct was required to remove himself from the case.

It is undisputed that Roggensack was the recipient of the same allegedly illegal campaign contributions that were the subject of the appeal. Put simply, Roggensack financially benefited from the same donors that Gov. Walker did.

Finance campaign records prove that between Roggensack and Justices Prosser, Ziegler and Gableman they received at least $10 million in contributions from the same folks that were the subject of the investigation into Gov. Walker’s campaign contributions.

In truth, Roggensack found it perfectly acceptable to sit on a case wherein he was being asked to rule against his donor benefactors. As expected, Dave cast a vote in favor of his and Gov. Walker’s handlers.

It is indeed unfortunately that Roggensack is another unethical jurist who is nothing more than a disgusting politician who puts politics ahead of the oath of office he took when he ascended to the bench.

Hopefully, Roggensack’s handlers reimbursed her for the cost he incurred in purchasing a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads while she was genuflecting in their honor while ruling in their favor.
