Attorney Ronny Buni of New York City; cheating moron

The state of New York presented Ronny Buni with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from John Marshall Law School.

Ronny found it acceptable to bill his clients (victims) $450 an hour for the time he spent learning basic legal principles.

Ronny was hired by Gerald and Vivian Kleinerman to represent them in litigation against their co-op board. The litigation was already proceeding when Ronny was hired. Ronny told the Kleinermans that he wouldn’t do any more work until he was paid $6,239 on an unpaid invoice.

Subsequently the fee matter went to the court system’s fee dispute program, which resulted in the arbitrator awarding the Kleinermans $5,000.

Unhappy with the result, Ronny had the chutzpah to file a new case against his clients to recover the $6,239 bill minus the $5,000 arbitration award. The Kleinermans then sought return of the entire $22,371 they had paid Ronny throughout the litigation.

Manhattan Civil Court Judge Frank Nervo later ruled that it was improper for Ronny to bill his clients for the time he spent attempting to familiarize himself with the applicable law in regards to representing the Kleinermans.

Judge Nervo then ordered Ronny to refund $21,621 of the $22,371 the Kleinermans had paid him.  Therefore, Judge Nervo ruled that Ronny was only entitled to $750.

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Ronny practices with The Law Offices of Ronny Buni at 105 East 34th Street in New York, New York.
