Attorney Frank Panetta of Mineola, NY; sore loser

The state of New York presented Frank C. Panetta with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Hofstra University Law School.

The Appellate Division, Second Department found Frankie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Frankie found it acceptable to send an insulting email to a fellow attorney whom he accused of having “hijacked” a liability case when she was forewoman of jury that ruled against Frankie’s client. The email’s subject line was: “All these years later I will never forget Lauren the Liar, Hartman v. NYC.”

Frankie’s insulting email said the following:

• “After numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and success beyond anything you will ever attain in your lifetime, I will never forget you: the bloated jury [forewoman] that I couldn't get rid of and that misled and hijacked my jury.”
• “You lied, said you had no involvement in defense—no biases. It was all bullshit.”

Not satisfied with attacking the jury forewoman, Frankie also went after the attorney that represented the city in the Hartman case by saying in his email:

• “You either had no idea of what the concept of probable cause meant or you misled jurors because you were defense oriented."
• "You rooted for the underdog, a totally incompetent corporation counsel, outgunned and stupid.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division panel punished Frankie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
