Attorney Leotis Williams of Birmingham, AL; ethical gremlin

The state of Alabama presented Leotis Williams with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Miles College of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Leotis guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law when suspended by bankruptcy court by filing at least 46 bankruptcy petitions on behalf of his so-called clients
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Failed to adequately communicate with client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Leotis by gifting him with a complimentary 91-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2015), Leotis practices in Birmingham, Alabama.
