Judge Gale Robinson of Nashville, arrogant, scofflaw, ethically hamstrung

Unfortunately, Judge Gale Robinson has been a judge of Davidson County’s General Session Courts located in Nashville since 1990.

The overburdened taxpayers of Tennessee and Nashville are hosed annually to the tune of $150,000 to pay for the useless judicial services provided by Judge Gale Robinson.

Beginning in August 2008, investigative reporters at News Channel 5 in Nashville embarked on an investigation of Judge Robinson’s judicial work habits. That investigation led to evidence that while collecting his underserved $150,000 annual salary, Judge Robinson was earning additional income in acting as the director of his family-owned funeral parlor.

Put simply, Judge Robinson was AOL (absent without leave) from performing the judicial services he was being paid for while he earned additional income at the funeral parlor. To be fair to Judge Robinson, maybe he felt being a judge in Nashville was a dead end job so to speak.

Hypocrisy 101

News 5 reported that Judge Gale Robinson doesn’t take kindly to attorneys showing up late in his courtroom. In fact, Robinson said, “The good citizens of Davidson County don’t need to be sitting around here all day long,” while lecturing attorneys in his court.

Of course the same standards that Judge Robinson imposes on attorneys don’t apply to him. He finds it perfectly acceptable to bill the taxpayers of Davidson County and the state of Tennessee for judicial wages he didn’t earn while he was working as the director of his families funeral parlor.

I wonder if ol’ Gale intends to finally put this double-dipping issue to rest. I doubt he will since it is obvious that he is afflicted with an incurable case of avarice.

Arrogance 101

News 5 filmed Judge Robinson at his family-owned funeral home while he was collecting his undeserved $72 an hour judicial wage. When he finally departed the funeral home (I’m talking about da Judge), as expected he was unapologetic. He told News 5 reporter Williams, “I love both of my jobs.”

It should be obvious to any reasonably intelligent person with an I.Q. equal to the legal speed limit for semi-trucks on I-440 in Nashville that Judge Gale Robinson is one arrogant Whatchmakallit. Judge Robinson gives arrogance a bad name if ya know what I mean.

The powers-to-be in Davidson County should conduct a forensic audit to determine exactly how many hours Judge Robinson was paid for judicial services he never provided and he should be made to reimburse the taxpayers.
