Judge Curtissa Cofield of Connecticut; accomplished lush, moron, ethical gimp

 

Judge Curtissa Cofield sits on the Superior Court in Hartford, Connecticut; albeit when sober.
 
While driving her Lexus in Glastonbury, Judge Cofield struck a Connecticut State Police cruiser parked on the shoulder of the road in a construction zone, which was occupied by a State trooper. Now ya gotta be a dedicated hooch hound to slam into a parked police cruiser, right?
 
Subsequently, State Police Sergeant Dwight Washington was dispatched to the accident scene to investigate the matter. Sgt. Washington spoke to Judge Cofield, who was seated in her Lexus, and she denied (lied) having been drinking or under the influence. However, he detected the odor of alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot. Sgt. Washington then administered various field sobriety tests, all of which she failed.
 
Sgt. Washington then placed Judge Cofield under arrest and she was transported to the Glastonbury Police Department for processing.
 
While being processed at the Police Department, Judge Cofield uttered the following comments:
  • On more than one occasion she called Sgt. Washington “asshole”
  • She told Sgt. Washington “I will kick your ass.”
  • She addressed Sgt. Washington, who is African American as “Mr. Negro Washington”
  • While speaking to another person on the phone, she referred to Sgt. Washington as “the head nigger in charge.”
  • She insisted on being addressed as judge
  • She threatened Sgt. Washington that he wouldn’t have a job, and stated she was smarter than him and would prevail in Court
  • She called a female police office “little girl” and referred to Sgt. Washington and the female officer as “Ken and Barbie”

For using racial slurs and profanity while being properly arrested for driving while drunk, Judge Cofield received a complimentary six month suspension.
 
Unfortunately, this drunken, foul-mouth loser remains on the bench in Hartford as we speak (ca. May 2010.
