Attorney Richard Steffes of Beaver Dam, WI; ethical gremlin

The state of Wisconsin presented Richard W. Steffes with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Marquette University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dick!)
• Failed to provide client with accounting of client trust account funds
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to notify client he had deposited client funds in his own personal account
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to maintain complete records of trust account funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As As we speak (ca. July 2015), Dick practices with the Steffes Law Office at 224 South Spring Street in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
