Attorney Arthur McFarland of Charleston, SC; repeat offender

The State of South Carolina presented Arthur C. McFarland with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Art guilty of the following misconduct.

Art’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to expedite litigation
  • Was unfair to opposing party and counsel
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Art!)

Art’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to abide by client decisions concerning objectives of representation
  • Failed to promptly respond to client requests for information
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to safeguard client property

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Art by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2015) Art practices with The Law Office of Arthur C. McFarland at 1847 Ashley River Road in Charleston, South Carolina.
