Attorney Jay Slobey of Nashville; ethical gnome

The state of Tennessee provided Jay R. Slobey with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Case Western Reserve University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Jay guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Due to negligence client’s case dismissed by trial court
  • Failed to expedite litigation
  • Engaged in unfair conduct aimed at opposing counsel
  • Failed to advise client that trial court had dismissed his case
  • Failed to be candid with trial court

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Jay by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2015) Jay practices at 2804 Columbine Place in Nashville, Tennessee.
