Attorney Thomas Sanborn of Canfield, OH; convicted thief

The state of Ohio presented Thomas Herbert Sanborn with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Akron Law School.

The Cincinnati Bar Association found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Failed to maintain estate funds in identifiable account
  • Failed to promptly notify survivors of receipt of estate funds
  • Pled guilty to bank fraud in federal court
  • Misappropriated (stole) $231,000 in client funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2015), Tommy practices with Thomas H. Sanborn LLC at 3770 Starr Centre Drive in Canfield, Ohio, which is about 50 miles east of Akron.
