Attorney Nancy Yakubek of Warren, OH; ethical dwarf

The state of Ohio presented Nancy Ellen Yakubek with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the University of Akron Law School.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Nancy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to return client file after being discharged
• Failed to timely submit required documents to bankruptcy court
• Failed to take action to protect client after foreclosure action filed
• Failed to return numerous client phone calls
• Failed to return unearned fees until after client filed ethics complaint
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to consult with client about means by which client’s objectives were to be accomplished

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Nancy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
