Attorney Francisco Segarra of Springfield, OR; ethical gremlin

The state of Oregon provided Francisco C. Segarra with a law license in 2006.

The Oregon State Bar found Fran guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to adequately explain matter to client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to withdraw when withdrawal mandated
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests upon being fired
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Fran!)
  • Engaged in conduct reflecting adversely on fitness to practice law
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Client sustained actual injury

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Fran by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2015) Fran practices in Springfield, Oregon.
