Judge Michael Seiler of Conroe, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Michael Thomas Seiler with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

In 2008 former Gov. Rick Perry was duped into appointing Seiler as a District Court judge in Conroe. Seiler didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the Conroe area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Seiler guilty of the following misconduct.

• Berated and belittled attorneys representing sex offenders
• Openly criticized a witness
• Made comments outside the courtroom indicating an inability to be fair an impartial

In one matter, while speaking before the Texas Patriots PAC, Judge Seiler compared sexual predators to Hannibal Lecter while a photo of Lector appeared on a screen during his speech.

In another matter, Seiler told the spectators present at a court hearing that “he kept a gun in his lap while sitting at the bench because the defendant was ‘way out there.’”

As a consequence of his conduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Judge Slaughter by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2015), Judge Seiler remains sitting on the 435^th Judicial District Court judge in Conroe, Texas.
