Judge Valeriano Saucedo of Visalia, CA; raving lunatic

The state of New York presented Robert P. Merino with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Stanford University Law School.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance has charged Judge Saucedo with the following misconduct.

  • Sent anonymous letter to husband of courtroom clerk accusing her of having an affair in attempt to establish close relationship with her
  • Gave his clerk at least $14,000 in cash to help pay for a BMW
  • Gave his clerk $8,000 to pay for a trip to Disneyland
  • Engaged in willful misconduct
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

All that’s left now is to see what punishment, if any the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission mete out to Saucedo. I suspect the worst that will happen is that he will receive a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. April 2015), Saucedo continues to sit as a Tulare County Superior Court judge in Visalia, California.
