Judge Tim Wright of Georgetown, TX; indicted gun runner

The state of Texas presented Tim with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Baylor University Law School.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

In mid-April 2015, Judge Wright was criminally charged for knowingly selling seven (7) firearms to the same felon on three separate occasions in February 2015. From at least June 2014 through March 2015, Wright also helped smuggle multiple weapons out of the United States without the proper license.

ATF Special Agent in Charge Robert Elder said, “This firearms trafficking investigation, which involves multiple firearms destined for Mexico, is another example of ATF’s relentless pursuit of individuals who attempt to utilize any means available to illegally appropriate and divert firearms for criminal purposes.”

In addition, Wright is also charged with falsifying information when he purchased firearms from gun stores in Georgetown and Copperas Cove. The indictment said that says Wright filled out paperwork indicating he was the buyer of the firearms, but he was actually buying the firearms on behalf of another person.

Wright was arraigned by Judge Mark Lane who ordered that he surrender his passport, concealed handgun license, and restricted his travel to Travis, Hays and William County.

Wright’s attorney Jeff Senter had the chutzpah to say: “The position right now is he [Wright] is going to stay on the bench because he is innocent.” Clearly, Senter missed his calling as a Standup Comedian.

All that’s left now is to see how long it takes for Wright to cop a plea. After that we’ll see what action the Judicial Commission and/or the State Bar will take to rid the citizens of this certified loser.

As we speak (April 2015), Timmy continues to sit as a County Court at Law Judge in Georgetown, Texas.
