Attorney Edrick Thompson of Detroit; ethical gremlin

The state of Michigan presented Edrick Terrell Thompson with a law license in 2002.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel found Eddy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client basis of his fee
  • Failed to reduce contingent fee arrangement to writing
  • Railed to render full account of funds received
  • Neglected post-judgment divorce matter
  • Failed to seek client’s lawful objective through reasonably available means
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests after being fired
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Edrick!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Eddy by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2015), Eddy practices with the Wayne County Friend of Court at 645 Griswold Street in Detroit, Michigan.
