Judge Kirk Tabbey of Ypsilanti; MI; drunken scofflaw

The state of Michigan presented Kirk W. Tabbey with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit.

It should be noted that Judge Tabbey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past thirty-one (31) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Ann Arbor area was about to offer Kirk a good paying job.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission found Judge Tabbey guilty of the following misconduct.

In late 2014, Judge Tabbey was operating a motor vehicle while towing a boat and trailer out of the water at a public launch and then parking on the shoulder of a public road in Antrim County, Michigan was he was intoxicated.

Shortly thereafter, a criminal complaint was issued against Tabbey charging him with operating a motor vehicle with a high blood content.

Subsequently, Kirk the Drunk pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Sheila by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. March 2015) Tabbey continues to sit as a 14-A District Court Washtenaw County judge in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
