Judge Sheila Gibson of Detroit; ethical dwarf

The state of Michigan presented Sheila Ann Gibson  with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission found Judge Gibson guilty of the following misconduct.

Judge Gibson was of the arrogant opinion that she could show up for work and leave whenever it pleased her. And of course she felt that she was entitled to a full day’s pay even though she failed to put in an eight-hour-day. Below are examples of lack of attendance at the courthouse in Detroit, which was reported by WXYZ-TV in Detroit.

10/15/12– arrived at court and took the bench at 11:00 am

18 matters set for hearing on 10/15/12 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am

10/16/12– arrived at court and took the bench at 10:38 a.m.

18 matters set for hearing on 10/16/12 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am

10/17/12 – arrived at court and took the bench at 11:00 am

22 matters set for hearing on 10/17/12 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am

10/18/12– arrived at court and took the bench at 11:00 am

15 matters set for hearing on 10/18/12 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am

10/19/12– arrived at court and took the bench at 11:00 am

15 matters set for hearing on 10/19/12 between 9:00 am and 10:00 am

The report by WXYZ showed that on the five days set forth above, that she left the court between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm each day.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Sheila by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

Unfortunately, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court did not order that Sheila be made to reimburse the taxpayers for the hours she never provided them with any judicial services.

As we speak (ca. March 2015), Sheila continues to sit as a Third Circuit Court judge in Detroit, Michigan.
