Attorney John Erickson of San Francisco; convicted tax cheat

The state of California presented John Vincent Erickson with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Harvard University Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny pled no contest (guilty in effect) to counts of failing to file California income tax returns. Johnny’s total tax liability was approximately $217,381 and he was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine to the Franchise Tax Board, $10,000 to the San Francisco District Attorney’s office and a $320 fine.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth the comedians sitting on the State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Johnny.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Johnny practices with the Law Offices of John V. Erickson at 1 Embarcadero Center in San Francisco, California.
