Attorney Paul Amundson of Aurora, CO; ethical troll
The state of Colorado presented Paul Thomas Amundson with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.
Disciplinary Counsel found Paulie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Failed to maintain a ledger for or reconcile his trust account
-
Entered into a business transaction with a client without advising the client to seek independent legal counsel and the client gives written informed consent to the transaction
-
Failed to keep separate any property in which two or more persons claim an interest until there is a resolution of the claims
-
Failed to maintain a business account into which the lawyer must deposit funds the lawyer receives for legal services
-
Failed to maintain trust account records
-
Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
-
Knowingly disobey an obligation under the rules of a tribunal (Up yours, said Paulie!)
-
Failed to reconcile trust account records on at least a quarterly basis
-
Improperly withdrew cash from a trust account
-
Failed to promptly deliver to the client or third person any funds that person is entitled to receive
-
Commingled client funds with personal funds
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. November 2023), Paulie practices his so-called brand of law at 14901 East Hampden Avenue in Aurora, Colorado.
