Attorney Scott Adams of Noblesville, IN; cheating slacker
The state of Indiana presented Scott A. Adams with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law.
The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Scotty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Hired to obtain guardianship over client’s three grandchildren; prepared the petitions but never filed them
-
Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
-
Failed to properly certify his IOLTA trust account with the clerk
-
Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
-
Failed to communicate with client
-
Failed advise client of hearing date
-
Failed to appear at scheduled expungement hearing on client’s behalf
-
Client’s Illinois attorney attempted for several months to obtain a refund of the $3,500 for the client, which Scotty did not provide until after a grievance had been filed with the commission (cheater)
-
After accepting $1,000 retainer did not work on client matter and did not refund the $1,000 until the client filed a grievance with the disciplinary commission (cheater)
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Scotty by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. March 2020), Scotty practices at 14350 Mundy Drive in Noblesville, Indiana.
